I will answer each question in turn 1. We do not have any occurrence books that cover that period and area. The Occurrence books only go as far as 1984. The Station logs and duty books end at 1979, and Divisional crime registers end in 1971. 2. We do have South Wales Constabulary Weekly Orders, including the one for 1988. These include a mix of regular operational and staff updates. These may include reference to evictions, however, as they include details of serving police members you will not be able to access these volumes. You may wish to commission a paid search of these items to determine if there is anything of interest. 3. We do not have any press office or public relations files for this period. 4. Publicly available information on accessions can be found on the collection level description on our catalogue. DSWP’s CLD can be found at South Wales Police Constabulary Records. This catalogue includes everything that was deposited by South Wales Police- you may wish to have a browse of the records to determine if there is anything else of interest. ALLANOL: Daw'r e-bost hwn o'r tu allan i Gyngor Caerdydd, cymerwch ofal wrth glicio ar ddolenni. Dear Glamorgan Archives Team, I am researching the eviction and demolition at Great House Farm (Tŷ Mawr), Llandough, between 29 November and 6 December 1988. South Wales Constabulary officers were present. I understand from the South Wales Police Heritage Centre that Glamorgan Archives holds records of South Wales Police and its predecessor forces. Could you tell me whether you hold any of the following for late 1988, and their references and access conditions: 1. Occurrence books, station or duty records for the division covering Llandough (Penarth, Barry or Cardiff). 2. Operational orders or files for police attendance at evictions, sheriff's or bailiffs' enforcement, or breach-of-the-peace deployments. 3. Press office or public relations files for November–December 1988. 4. Any deposit list or transfer schedule for South Wales Constabulary records covering 1985–1990, so I can see what was and was not deposited. I also hold references ACA/8/2 (your ref 2026–3941) and 2026/3893 from earlier enquiries, if that helps connect this to my existing file. If some records are closed, please tell me the closure period and whether I can apply for access to the parts that concern my family.
