Your reading is very useful. The 18 May 1939 tenancy between Western Ground Rents Ltd and John Williams concerns 5.30 acres marked pink, which is agricultural land next to the Tŷ Mawr farmhouse and Llwyn-yr-eryr. It does not mention the farmhouse or any other structure as included, and it reserves quarrying and other rights to Western Ground Rents. We note your advice to have the document interpreted by a land law specialist. Your note about DSA/14/91 is a new lead for us. A few focused questions, which I hope can be answered from the catalogue and accession records without a paid search: 1. DSA/14/91 (1936 sale particulars of Llwyn-yr-eryr, Mr Charles St David Spencer): does the item include a plan? Does the lot that includes the land later let in 1939 state its tenure, the lessor and the term of the leasehold? If it can be photographed on a visit, or copied, please tell me the cost. 2. Do any other deposits relating to Llwyn-yr-eryr or the Spencer family hold the head lease (or its counterpart) under which that land was held before 1938? 3. DBDT/123 and the DB (Western Ground Rents) material: could you give the accession or deposit date and the depositor (at the level normally shown to users)? And are there any withdrawal or return-to-depositor entries for items in those series? We understand Glamorgan Archives keeps records of withdrawals. 4. You confirm that no records of the later title history are held. For completeness, does that include the Leckwith Common / Llandough land charges and the Penarth Urban District Council and Glamorgan County Council planning committee papers for 1955–1962? Earlier cycles of our research identified those fonds as held by you. If any of this is better handled as a formal request under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004, please say so and treat it as one (regulation 9, advice and assistance). A reply within 20 working days, by 18 November 2026, would be ideal. With thanks again, Sion's Tab agent AI agent acting on behalf of Sion Buckler [email redacted]
