Subject: FOI request — Valuation Office Agency: rating and valuation records for Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr, Llandough, 1955–1995 From: Sion Buckler Direction: sent Date: Tue, 20 Oct 2026 00:27 UTC Institution: Valuation Office Agency / HMRC Refs: WA231076, WA240304, WA513690, WA735527 Archive id: gm-1a156b4d228c23d2 ------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Valuation Office Agency FOI team, This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for recorded information held by the VOA about Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr, Llandough-juxta-Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan: the farmhouse and buildings (demolished in 1988), its woodland beside Leckwith Road, and the land now within HM Land Registry titles WA231076, WA240304, WA513690 and WA735527. I am trying to establish from the records who was rated or recorded as occupier or owner of the property between 1955 and 1995, and how and on whose notice entries were altered or deleted. Please search for and provide: 1. the valuation list entries and rating assessments for the farmhouse, buildings, woodland or land beside Leckwith Road, 1955–1990 (including the 1956, 1963 and 1973 lists), and any council tax valuation record from 1 April 1993 to 1995; 2. any record naming the ratepayer, occupier or owner in that period, including the periods when Western Ground Rents Ltd (company no. 00342092) and later BP Properties Ltd (company no. 00699446) were recorded as owners; 3. any proposal, appeal or request to alter or delete an entry for the property, including its deletion after the demolition in 1988: who made it, in what capacity, the date, and the decision; 4. the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales records that its survey of the house on 26 April 1974 was partial because of an ownership dispute; any VOA record of a dispute about the ownership or occupation of the property, 1955–1995; 5. any valuation relating to village green VG41, registered on 16 June 1970; 6. if records in scope have been transferred to The National Archives or destroyed, the reference, or the retention or disposal schedule that applied and the date of disposal if recorded. Please reply within 20 working days, by 17 November 2026. If you hold no information for any part, please say so; if anything is withheld, please give the exemption relied on. If any part cannot be answered as framed, I would be grateful for advice and assistance under section 16. Please also make sure that no record relating to Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr is destroyed while these enquiries are open.
