Subject: FOI request — Audit Wales: external audit records of council land dealings at Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr, Llandough, 1970–1996 From: Sion Buckler Direction: sent Date: Tue, 20 Oct 2026 00:27 UTC Institution: Audit Wales Refs: none Archive id: gm-1a156b4a9e8729a6 ------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Audit Wales FOI team, This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and, where they apply, the Environmental Information Regulations 2004. It concerns Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr, Llandough-juxta-Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan: the farm, its woodland beside Leckwith Road, village green VG41 (registered on 16 June 1970), and the land later developed as Church View Close. The farmhouse was demolished in 1988. I understand that Audit Wales holds records inherited from the Wales Audit Office and, for Welsh local government, from the District Audit Service and the Audit Commission. I am trying to establish from the records whether the external auditors examined any council dealing with this land and, if so, who examined it, when and with what result. Please tell me whether Audit Wales holds, and provide, the following for 1970–1996, for the Vale of Glamorgan Borough Council, South Glamorgan County Council, Glamorgan County Council and the district councils that covered Llandough before 1974: 1. any audit report, management letter, public interest report or value-for-money report that mentions Great House Farm, Tŷ Mawr, Church View Close, village green VG41 or land at Leckwith Road, Llandough; 2. any auditor's working papers or correspondence about any acquisition, sale, exchange, lease or registration of land there by any of those councils, including the registration of VG41; 3. any objection by a local government elector, or any question raised at the audit of accounts, about land at Great House Farm, and the auditor's decision on it, with the date and the auditor (by role) who made it; 4. any correspondence between the auditors and HM Land Registry, BP Properties Ltd (company no. 00699446), Western Ground Rents Ltd (company no. 00342092) or Ideal Homes about the land; 5. if records of this kind for the period are no longer held, the retention or disposal schedule that applied, the date of disposal if recorded, and who authorised it, or the repository to which they were transferred. Please reply within 20 working days, by 17 November 2026. If you hold no information for any part, please say so; if anything is withheld, please give the exemption relied on. If any part cannot be answered as framed, I would be grateful for advice and assistance under section 16. Please also make sure that no record relating to Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr is destroyed while these enquiries are open.
