To keep things simple, I have put everything I need from the National Library into this one email. 1. Bute Estate Records, 1870–1880 Could you search the Bute Estate Records for the following, all for Llandough-juxta-Penarth: (a) any lease, agreement or sale of "Cedfin", "Tŷ Mawr", "Ty Mawr" or "Great House" farm between 1870 and 1880, especially to John Williams or to Daniel Thomas & Son (who were rated for the lime kiln and quarry there in 1876); (b) the items referenced as D153/4–8 and D219, which Glamorgan Archives suggests are held by the National Library; (c) the conveyance of the Bute interest at Llandough to Western Ground Rents Ltd in December 1938 (a 1965 contract refers to a conveyance on sale dated 25 December 1938). 2. Later records of the farm Whether the Library holds any record of Great House Farm, Llandough, from the 1974 survey, the 1988 listing consideration or the demolition of the farmhouse in 1988, and anything that would help distinguish it from Great House, Bonvilston. 3. Searches What searches were made, and whether physical files were checked. Please send catalogue references, and copy costs where items exist. A reply by 6 November 2026 would be appreciated. Thank you for your help.
