Subject: Records enquiry – BP Properties Ltd / BP Pension Trust: Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr, Llandough, 1969–1993 (several items) From: Sion Buckler Direction: sent Date: Mon, 19 Oct 2026 22:14 UTC Institution: BP Refs: WA231076, WA240304 Archive id: gm-1a1563aa61190422 ------------------------------------------------------------ Dear BP Archive, Thank you for your replies of 19 and 25 August 2026, and further to my preservation notice of 28 September 2026. To keep things simple, I have put everything I need to ask BP into this one email. I understand the BP Archive holds material only to the end of 1954 and that later records are not open to external access. I am not asking for access. I am asking whether you hold, or can identify the custodian of, the records below. 1. Property records, 1969–1993 Records of BP Properties Ltd (company no. 00699446) and British Petroleum Pension Trust Ltd relating to land at Llandough, near Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan (Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr), 1969–1993, including: (a) the purchase from Western Ground Rents Ltd by conveyance recited as dated 31 December 1969, and the conveyances of 23 May 1975 and 19 November 1982, as recited in HM Land Registry's records; (b) the first registrations of titles WA231076 and WA240304 (1982–83) and their amalgamation on 2 February 1987; (c) the management of the site in the 1980s; (d) the 1993 transfer of the site to Ideal Homes. 2. The litigation and the 1988 demolition Whether BP holds any file on BP Properties Ltd v Buckler (High Court 1986; Court of Appeal 1987) or on the possession and demolition of the farmhouse in November–December 1988. 3. Searches and retention What searches were made, whether physical files were checked, and whether anything has been destroyed or transferred elsewhere. A catalogue reference, or a "not held" with a pointer to the part of BP that would hold property-company records, would both help. A reply by 16 November 2026 would be much appreciated. Please also make sure that no record relating to Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr is destroyed while these enquiries are open. Thank you for your help.
