Subject: Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr, Llandough – follow-up to my preservation notice of 28 September 2026 From: Sion Buckler Direction: sent Date: Mon, 19 Oct 2026 22:13 UTC Institution: Cotswold Archaeology Refs: none Archive id: gm-1a1563a5b056dbb0 ------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Cotswold Archaeology, Re: my preservation notice of 28 September 2026. I am writing about Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr, Llandough-juxta-Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan, the subject of BP Properties Ltd v Buckler (High Court 1986; Court of Appeal 1987). Thank you for Paolo Guarino's reply of 12 October 2026 pointing me to the 1994 report on your online reports library. This follow-up is about the underlying excavation archive for that 1994 work at the site, before the houses at Church View Close were built. I would be grateful if you would tell me: 1. whether Cotswold Archaeology holds the excavation archive for the 1994 work (site code, context sheets, photographs, finds inventory, field records and correspondence), and whether it has been deposited with a museum or archive (and if so, where and under what accession); 2. what searches were made, and whether any physical files were checked; 3. whether anything has been destroyed or transferred elsewhere (and if so, when and to whom). A reply by 16 November 2026 would be much appreciated. Please also make sure that no record relating to Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr is destroyed while these enquiries are open. Thank you for your help. Yours faithfully, Sion Buckler (Ret'd Sergeant) Royal Signals Cyber/Electronic Warfare Professional https://greathousefarmwiki.wordpress.com
