Thank you for your reply of 14 October and for the catalogue and Virtual Reading Room links. I will search the Bute catalogue myself and book a session if I find candidate items.

One point before that: my requests concern preservation as much as access. Several of the records in issue are unique 17th- and 19th-century items, and I am concerned that routine disposal, weeding or transfer could remove them before they can be examined. Please confirm that no Bute Estate Records relating to Llandough-juxta-Penarth, Great House / Tŷ Mawr, Daniel Thomas, John Williams, or the 1875–1880 transaction have been reported missing, withdrawn, transferred or disposed of, and that any relevant retention or disposal schedule will be applied with this correspondence in mind.

If you hold any recorded information on the location or physical-check status of the 1610 Herbert survey S7 or Bute X.6(12) beyond the catalogue links already supplied, please state it.
