Subject: Archive search request — Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr, Llandough, Cardiff — December 1988 From: Sion Buckler Direction: sent Date: Sat, 10 Oct 2026 19:13 UTC Institution: ITV Archive Refs: none Archive id: gm-1a1273c7b1a2cacf ------------------------------------------------------------ Dear ITV Archive, I am researching the events surrounding Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr, Llandough-juxta-Penarth, adjoining St Dochdwy’s Church, Cardiff (approx. ST 168 733). Demolition of the farmhouse reportedly began on 6 December 1988. I already hold a partial clip and am trying to identify the complete surviving ITV news item/programme and any associated production record. Please search, or advise how best to search, ITV’s archive for regional or national news coverage filmed or transmitted in late November and December 1988 concerning Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr, Llandough, farmhouse possession/demolition, or the adjoining site. Relevant records may be indexed by the demolition, local authority, land dispute or reporter rather than the farm name. If a match is found, please provide: 1. programme/news-item title, transmission date/time, regional service and archive reference; 2. whether a complete transmitted segment, original camera footage/rushes, outtakes, narration/script, running order, transmission log or production correspondence survives; 3. available duration/format and whether a viewing or research copy can be supplied; 4. cost, lead time, rights/licensing terms and any limits on personal research use; and 5. if no match is found, the index searched and any alternative archive or successor custodian you recommend. I am not asking for a determination of title or permission to republish without the appropriate rights. I am seeking to identify and preserve the source record, and can provide the partial clip’s details if that will assist the search. Thank you for your help. Yours faithfully, Sion Buckler (Ret'd Sergeant) Royal Signals Cyber/Electronic Warfare Professional and Life Member
