Subject: Re: FOI — Welsh Office / Cadw papers, July–December 1988 — Great House Farm (Ty Mawr), Llandough — following 26FOI 103 (ATISN 27589) From: Sion Buckler Direction: sent Date: Thu, 01 Oct 2026 15:34 UTC Institution: Welsh Government / Cadw Refs: 26FOI103, ATISN27589 Archive id: gm-1a0f81abba064237 ------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Dr Wigley, Thank you for your acknowledgement of ATISN 27589 and confirmation that a response is due by 26 October 2026. For the avoidance of doubt, I should clarify the two historical dates reproduced in your acknowledgement: “Possession was taken on 29 November 1988” and “Demolition of the farmhouse began on 6 December 1988” were included in my request as contextual information identifying the period and events to which the requested records relate. Their repetition in the acknowledgement should not be treated as an acceptance by me that either date, or any legal characterisation of possession or demolition, has been established by the Welsh Government or by me. This whole situation maybe unprecedented. It was already a landmark legal case in 1987, without this added layer we may now be understanding. My request is for recorded information held by the Welsh Government/Cadw concerning the matters specified in points 1–3. I am not asking Cadw to determine title, possession, limitation or any other legal issue, and nothing in this FOI correspondence is intended to constitute an admission, waiver, settlement or abandonment of any rights or position concerning those matters. Please also expressly confirm that records falling within the scope of ATISN 27589, including any relevant historic listing, inspection, photographic, administrative and file-disposal records, will be preserved pending completion of the request and any applicable internal review or complaint process. I look forward to the substantive response by 26 October. And sincerely thank you for your time and attention in this matter. You are appreciated.
