Subject: Internal review of 719/26 (no records held) and overdue request of 20 August 2026 — Great House Farm, Llandough, 1988 From: Sion Buckler Direction: sent Date: Sun, 27 Sep 2026 04:17 UTC Institution: South Wales Police Refs: 719/26 Archive id: gm-1a0e115453ac927d ------------------------------------------------------------ Freedom of Information / Data Management Team, Request 719/26, and my request of 20 August 2026 (deaths of William Buckler and Mary Doreen Williams) 1. Internal review of 719/26 I understand the Force's position is that it holds no records. I ask for an internal review of that conclusion, because the search does not appear capable of finding what the request describes. South Wales Constabulary officers were present at the eviction and demolition at Great House Farm (Tŷ Mawr), Llandough, between 29 November and 6 December 1988. This is not a matter of recollection. It appears in ITV Wales footage from the time, now public on ITV's archive channel, and in contemporary newspaper photographs and reports, which I can supply. A police presence on that scale would have generated records: a duty or deployment record, an operational order or briefing, an occurrence or incident log, liaison with the Under-Sheriff or bailiffs, press office material, and possibly photographs. For the review, please confirm in writing: (a) Which systems, archives and paper holdings were searched, including pre-1990s paper records of the former Penarth/Barry division and any South Glamorgan command records. (b) The search terms used. Records of that period may be indexed under "Leckwith Road", "Llandough", "BP Properties", "Buckler", "Williams", "Ty Mawr", "eviction", "breach of the peace" or the date, rather than "Great House Farm". (c) Whether records of that type from 1988 were destroyed under a retention schedule, and if so which schedule and whether any disposal record survives. (d) Whether any records were transferred to Glamorgan Archives or the South Wales Police Heritage Centre, with the reference if known. If records were destroyed, a record of their destruction is itself information I am asking for. If they are held elsewhere, please tell me where, under your duty to advise and assist. I was present at the eviction as a child. So far as any record contains my personal data, please also treat this as a subject access request under Article 15 UK GDPR. 2. Request of 20 August 2026 This request was due on 18 September 2026 and I have had no response beyond the automatic acknowledgement. Please give me its reference and the response. If the records are not held, please say whether they were destroyed or passed to the Coroner. If I do not receive the internal review outcome within 20 working days, I will complain to the Information Commissioner. Yours faithfully, Sion Buckler (Ret'd Sergeant) greathousefarmwiki.wordpress.com
