Subject: Application for copy death certificates – William Buckler (1990) and Mary Doreen Williams (1983) From: Sion Buckler Direction: sent Date: Wed, 09 Sep 2026 16:29 UTC Institution: Glamorgan Archives Refs: none Archive id: gm-1a087009ed6a2a98 ------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Karen, Thank you for your emails of 21 August and 9 September 2026. Your 9 September message repeats the 21 August reply and does not address my follow-up of 21 August 2026 (13:31), which attached the only document I hold for Mary Doreen Williams and asked specific questions about the March 1983 registration. I set out below only those points that fall within the Register Office. 1. William (Billy) Buckler — entry you confirm you hold Please confirm in writing that: (a) Cardiff Register Office holds the death entry; (b) the entry will be retained and will not be destroyed; (c) the registration particulars needed to order a certified copy, namely exact date of death, district, volume and page (or equivalent register reference). I will consider placing the order. Please confirm whether you need anything further from me before I pay (priority £38.50 or standard £12.50). 2. Mary Doreen Williams — entry you say you cannot locate I already supplied: - full name: Mary Doreen Williams - date of birth: 10 August 1913 - death registered: March 1983, South Glamorgan - GRO index: Volume 28, Page 3029 - supporting document attached to my 21 August email Please confirm: (a) whether that 21 August attachment was received and reviewed; (b) whether the search included Volume 28, Page 3029 for March 1983, South Glamorgan; (c) which indexes and years were searched, and under which name variants (Mary, Doreen, Mary D, Williams); (d) if Cardiff does not hold the entry, which office should hold a March 1983 South Glamorgan death, or whether I should order from GRO using Vol 28 / Page 3029; (e) if the entry is found, whether the index or register shows anything unusual for March 1983 (for example a gap between date of death and date of registration, or any other feature visible on the face of the record). Point (e) is a request about the registration record only. I am not asking the Register Office to comment on title, planning, or any other matter outside civil registration. I would be grateful for a written reply to each of 1(a)–(c) and 2(a)–(e). Yours sincerely, Sion Buckler [email redacted]
