Subject: Re: Great House Farm, Llandough Request 00210772 From: Sion Buckler Direction: sent Date: Fri, 14 Aug 2026 18:46 UTC Institution: Vale of Glamorgan Council Refs: 00210772 Archive id: gm-1a00198b4da13afc ------------------------------------------------------------ Information Governance Team, I refer to the internal review of Case Ref 00210772 (Great House Farm / Ty Mawr, Llandough) which I requested on 7 July 2026. On 5 August 2026 you acknowledged that the matter remained outstanding beyond the 20-working-day statutory period and stated that further enquiries with service areas were ongoing. You indicated a further update or decision would be provided. As of the close of business on Friday 14 August 2026 no substantive response or decision has been received. This is a formal chase. The Environmental Information Regulations 2004 require that internal reviews be completed promptly and, in any event, within a reasonable time. The delay is now significant. Please provide the completed internal review decision within 5 working days of this email (i.e. by close of business on Monday 24 August 2026). If a full response is not received by that date I may escalate the matter to the Information Commissioner’s Office for non-compliance with the statutory timescales under the EIR, which I do not care to do. Please also confirm, as part of the outstanding review or by way of further disclosure under the same reference: 1. Whether the Council (as local planning authority) considered issuing a Building Preservation Notice under section 58 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1971 (or any equivalent provision) in respect of Great House Farm at any time between July and December 1988. 2. If it was considered, who decided against it and on what grounds. 3. If it was not considered, why not, given that the building was under active bailiff enforcement, partial demolition of outbuildings had already occurred, and Cadw had publicly stated on 3 December 1988 that listing was under active consideration. A Building Preservation Notice would have provided interim protection at the critical moment. Its absence is material to the internal review of the original response and to the wider handling of the case.
