Subject: Re: [NLW English] Great House Farm, Llandough | Cardiff Castle Furniture 2/2 From: Sion Buckler Direction: sent Date: Mon, 20 Jul 2026 19:37 UTC Institution: National Library of Wales Refs: none Archive id: gm-19f81088a9c5371a ------------------------------------------------------------ Ms Daniel, Further to my internal review request, I would like to provide a short clarification regarding the scope of my original FOI request. Having reviewed my original request submitted on 3 July 2026, I wish to emphasise that the request was expressly for recorded information, not merely for physical objects held within NLW collections. The original request specifically sought: inventories, catalogues and asset registers; acquisition, disposal, loan and transfer records; provenance files and ownership records; photographs; correspondence concerning identification, recovery, ownership or location; internal reports, legal advice and memoranda; correspondence involving the Buckler or Williams families; correspondence with Bute Estate, Cardiff Castle, museums and other public bodies. Therefore, my concern is not that NLW does not hold furniture as part of a collection. I understand that point. My concern is whether relevant documentary records were searched across appropriate archival collections where references to such items may exist. For example, where NLW holds Bute Estate material relating to Ty Mawr/Llandough, I would appreciate confirmation as to whether those collections were searched for incidental references to: household inventories; fixtures; valuations; estate correspondence; transfers or disposals; provenance information; references to occupants or contents of the farmhouse. This clarification is provided to assist the internal review and ensure the original request is considered in its full context. I appreciate the catalogue references already provided and look forward to confirmation of the searches undertaken.
